Search Browser History Quickly with a Google Chrome Address Bar Shortcut
Often I find myself searching for an essay or technical reference that I know I was reading a few days ago, but is too old to show up in the autocomplete options in the Chrome address bar. To make it easier to search my browsing history, I whipped up this little search shortcut.
To set this up, right click the Chrome address bar and choose Edit Search Engines. Click the plus sign in the bottom left of the dialog, and enter:
Name: chrome history Keyword: h URL: chrome://history/#q=%s
I also use an address bar shortcut to search my Google Docs, Docs for my Google Apps Domain, and my Google Bookmarks. If you’re the command line / keyboard type, give them a try.
